# Delete a component by ID.

`DELETE /datacatalog/api/component/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://data.usgs.gov` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

Deletes a component.

All associated data, such as database entry, Globus collection
sub-directory and Globus Search entry are deleted, as per
:func:`crud.DataRelease.delete_component`.

:param id: The ID of the coponent to delete.
:param token: A valid bearer token for the user.
