# Admin Restart

`POST /admin/restart`

Restart the server by spawning a new process then shutting down.

Requires an explicit ``{"confirm": true}`` body — a restart kills every
active session on the machine (a real hazard on shared Fly machines), so an
unconfirmed call returns a warning instead of restarting.

ece2ac0a — hosted mode requires the operator (admin session + admin
password); previously anyone could restart the hosted server.
