# GET /api/users/{user}/usage

`GET /api/users/{user}/usage`

GetUserUsage returns a user's usage and the usage limits in effect for the
 user. Only the user or an admin may call it.

## Path parameters

- `user` string, required

## Response `200`

OK

- UserUsage: UserUsage is a user's usage and the limit set in effect for the user.
  - `name` string: Identifier. The resource name of the user usage singleton. Format: users/{user}/usage
  - `memoCount` string: The number of memos the user created, including comments, archived memos, and memos in Spaces.
  - `storageBytes` string: The total size in bytes of the user's uploads, including uploads not attached to a memo. External links do not count.
  - `limits` UserUsageLimits: Limits is the limit for each metric. An unset limit is unlimited, as is 0.
    - `memoCount` string: The number of memos the user may have created.
    - `memoContentBytes` string: The UTF-8 size in bytes of one memo's content.
    - `storageBytes` string: The total size in bytes of the user's uploads.
    - `uploadBytes` string: The size in bytes of one uploaded file.
  - `limitIndex` integer: The position of the entry in effect in the USAGE_LIMITS setting, starting at 0. The default is the last entry.
