# Stop Paper Deployment

`DELETE /v1/paper/{deployment_id}`

Stop a paper run (terminal), LIVE|PAUSED -> STOPPED (S01 §3.13).

The live stop's order (Q-2353): ``STOPPED`` with ``stopped_at``, the
shard-route retirement, the equivalence cancel and the ``STOP_USER``
record, then the schedule delete, then commit. The paper counter fires,
never ``DEPLOYMENTS_STOPPED``. The account stays ``authorized`` and its
``KEEL_MINTED`` credential ``active``; positions are not liquidated.
Then, in its own transaction, the final settlement at ``stopped_at``:
best-effort, a failure is logged and recorded as
``STOP_SETTLEMENT_FAILED`` without changing the stop.
