# Remove a workspace member

`DELETE /admin/workspaces/{workspaceId}/members/{userId}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Remove a member from a workspace. Their account stays. The only owner can't be removed. Returns the updated member list.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials
- `403`: The caller is not an instance administrator or is authenticated with an API key
- `404`: Workspace or member not found
- `409`: The member is the only owner
- `429`: The API key exceeded its rate limit or usage quota. Wait the number of seconds in Retry-After before retrying. The X-RateLimit headers are sent only when the rate limit was hit.
