# Email a verification link

`POST /admin/users/{userId}/verification-email`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://cloud.kaneo.app/api`
- URL: `https://cloud.kaneo.app/api/admin/users/{userId}/verification-email`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Email the user a link, valid for 24 hours, that confirms their email address. The link is never returned to the administrator. Requires the `users:credentials` instance permission; API keys are rejected.

## Response `200`

The email was sent

- AdminEmailSent
  - `sent` true, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials
- `403`: The caller lacks the instance permission or is authenticated with an API key
- `404`: User not found
- `409`: Nothing to send: a guest account, an already verified address, or password sign-in is disabled
- `429`: The API key exceeded its rate limit or usage quota. Wait the number of seconds in Retry-After before retrying. The X-RateLimit headers are sent only when the rate limit was hit.
- `502`: The SMTP server did not accept the email
- `503`: Email delivery is not configured on this instance
