# Update open headcount status

`POST /open-headcount/{headcountId}/status`

Updates the status of an open headcount row. The API key's associated user must be a team administrator.

## Request body

- object
  - `openStatus` 'open' | 'filled' | 'closed_unfilled' | 'started', required
  - `actualStartDate` string, date

## Response `200`

The updated open headcount row.

## Other responses

- `400` — 400
- `401` — Missing, invalid, revoked, or expired API key.
- `403` — API key lacks the required resource or access level.
- `404` — Open headcount not found
- `422` — Open headcount status transition is not allowed.
