# SUNARP Vehicle by Plate

`POST /pe/sunarp-vehicular/vehicle-by-plate/v1`

## Request

Look up a vehicle in SUNARP's vehicle registry by plate: make, model, model year, color, engine number, serial number and VIN, plate in force and previous plate, status, annotations summary, theft alert, current owners (names) and the registry office and partida number. Includes a stored copy of the record SUNARP returned. `found: false` when no vehicle has that plate.

Supports async delivery: set `Prefer: wait=N` for an inline result, pass `callback_url` to receive a POST when ready, or poll `GET /jobs/{id}`.

  - `callback_url` string, uri: POST the job result here when it finishes.

    - `previous_plate` string, nullable, required: The plate it had before, or null when none ("NINGUNA").
    - `make` string, nullable, required: Make (marca), e.g. "NISSAN".
    - `model` string, nullable, required: Model (modelo), e.g. "NP300 FRONTIER".
    - `model_year` number, nullable, required: Model year (año de modelo).
    - `color` string, nullable, required: Color as SUNARP records it, e.g. "BLANCO".
    - `engine_number` string, nullable, required: Engine number (número de motor).
    - `serial_number` string, nullable, required: Serial number (número de serie).
    - `vin` string, nullable, required: VIN.
    - `vehicle_status` string, nullable, required: Status as SUNARP prints it, e.g. "EN CIRCULACION".
    - `annotations` string, nullable, required: SUNARP's one-line annotations summary (anotaciones), or null when none ("NINGUNA").
    - `theft_alert` string, nullable, required: A stolen-vehicle notice SUNARP attaches to the plate, else null.
    - `owners` string[], required: Current owners as SUNARP prints them, "SURNAMES, GIVEN NAMES". Names only: SUNARP shows no document numbers here.
    - `registry_offices` object[], required: Where the vehicle is registered. Usually one office.
      - `office` string, nullable, required: The registry office that keeps the vehicle's partida, e.g. "LIMA".
      - `office_code` string, nullable, required: SUNARP's code for that office, zone and office joined by a hyphen, e.g. "01-01".
      - `partida_number` string, nullable, required: The vehicle's partida number there; pass it to the SUNARP registry entry endpoint.
    - `generated_at` string, nullable, required: When SUNARP produced the record, ISO 8601 (Lima time, -05:00).
    - `document_url` string, nullable, required: Our stored copy of the record SUNARP returned (PNG), byte-identical; null when not found.
    - `checked_at` string, required: When SUNARP was read (ISO 8601).

## Other responses

- `202`: Accepted — the result is being computed asynchronously. Poll `job.status_url` (GET /jobs/{id}) or supply `callback_url` to have the result POSTed to you. Returned when `Prefer: wait` elapses before completion, or immediately when `callback_url` is set.
- `400`: Invalid request body
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal error
- `502`: Upstream source returned an error
