# Registro Civil Birth Record

`POST /co/registro-civil/birth-record/v1`

## Request

Find a Colombian birth civil registry (office, serial, inscription date) by first surname, first name, sex and date of birth. Returns `found: false` when there is no match.

  - `first_surname` string, required: First surname (primer apellido).
  - `first_name` string, required: First given name (primer nombre).
  - `sex` 'M' | 'F', required: Sex on the record: `M` (masculino) or `F` (femenino).
  - `birth_date` string, date, required: Date of birth in yyyy-mm-dd format (year 1900 or later).
  - `second_surname` string: Second surname (segundo apellido). Optional.
  - `second_name` string: Second given name (segundo nombre). Optional.

    - `birth_date` string, required: The queried date of birth (yyyy-mm-dd), echoed back.
    - `records` object[], required: Matching civil registries; empty when none are found.
      - `serial` string, required: Serial printed on the civil registry.
      - `document_number` string, nullable, required: NUIP / NIP / Tarjeta de Identidad tied to the record, when the register lists one.
      - `first_surname` string, nullable, required: Primer apellido on the record.
      - `second_surname` string, nullable, required: Segundo apellido on the record.
      - `first_name` string, nullable, required: Primer nombre on the record.
      - `second_name` string, nullable, required: Segundo nombre on the record.
      - `full_name` string, required: The record's names and surnames joined into one string.
      - `sex` string, nullable, required: Sex as the register reports it ("MASCULINO" / "FEMENINO").
      - `record_type` string, required: Kind of civil registry, e.g. "REGISTRO CIVIL DE NACIMIENTO".
      - `registration_office` string, nullable, required: Office the registry was inscribed at, e.g. "NOTARIA 4 BARRANQUILLA - ATLANTICO". null on a multi-record list row.
      - `registered_at` string, nullable, required: Inscription date (yyyy-mm-dd), or null when the register does not expose it on this row.
    - `checked_at` string, required: When this answer was read, as an ISO timestamp.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal error
- `502`: Upstream source returned an error
