# Banco de la República Series

`POST /co/banrep/series/v1`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.croma.run`
- URL: `https://api.croma.run/co/banrep/series/v1`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Read the observations of one statistical series of the Banco de la República (Colombia) by its code, the `id` of a search result, e.g. `1` (TRM), `59` (monetary policy rate), `15126` (consumer lending rate) or `15000` (consumer price index), optionally over a date range (`from_date`, `to_date`). Returns the series' metadata (name, unit, frequency, producer, last and next update) and every observation in the range as `date` and `value`, oldest first. Find a code with `banrep_series_search`. Served by Croma (`as_of` says how current the data is).

**Dataset endpoint**: answers from the whole source in milliseconds and carries `as_of`.

## Headers

- `Idempotency-Key` string

## Request body

- object
  - `series_code` string, required: The Banco de la República code of the series, the `id` of a search result, e.g. `1` (TRM) or `59` (policy rate).
  - `from_date` string, date: Optional date filter in yyyy-mm-dd format.
  - `to_date` string, date: Optional date filter in yyyy-mm-dd format.

## Response `200`

Successful response

- BanrepSeriesResponse
  - `data` BanrepSeriesData, required
    - `as_of` string, nullable, required: How current the data in this response is.
    - `found` boolean, required: False when the Banco de la República publishes no series under that code.
    - `series_code` string, required
    - `from_date` string, nullable, required
    - `to_date` string, nullable, required
    - `series` object, nullable, required
      - `id` string, required: The Banco de la República code of the series, e.g. `1` (TRM) or `59` (policy rate). Pass it as `series_code` to read the observations.
      - `name` string, required: The series' name as the Banco de la República publishes it, e.g. `Tasa de política monetaria`.
      - `description` string, nullable, required: A short description of the series: unit, adjustment, prices and base where they apply.
      - `category` string, nullable, required: The top-level category, e.g. `Tasas de interés y sector financiero` or `Precios e inflación`.
      - `subcategory` string, nullable, required: The second-level category, e.g. `Tasas de interés`.
      - `topic` string, nullable, required: The third-level category, e.g. `Tasas de interés de colocación`.
      - `frequency` 'daily' | 'weekly' | 'monthly' | 'quarterly' | 'semiannual' | 'annual', nullable, required: The native frequency of the observations: `daily`, `weekly`, `monthly`, `quarterly`, `semiannual` or `annual`.
      - `unit` string, nullable, required: The unit as published, e.g. `Tasa efectiva anual (porcentaje)` or `Miles de millones COP, base 2015`.
      - `unit_symbol` string, nullable, required: The short unit, e.g. `%` or `COP`.
      - `source` string, nullable, required: Who produces the data, e.g. `Banco de la República` or `Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística (DANE)`.
      - `produced_by_banrep` boolean, nullable, required: True when the Banco de la República produces the series itself; false when it republishes another entity's data.
      - `geography` string, nullable, required: The geography the series covers, e.g. `Nacional` or a city or departamento.
      - `seasonal_adjustment` string, nullable, required: The seasonal adjustment, e.g. `Sin ajuste estacional`.
      - `base_period` string, nullable, required: The base period of an index or a constant-price series, e.g. `2015`.
      - `prices` string, nullable, required: Current or constant prices, where the series says, e.g. `Precios constantes`.
      - `decimals` number, nullable, required: How many decimals the Banco de la República publishes the values with.

      - `first_date` string, nullable, required: `yyyy-mm-dd` of the first observation.
      - `last_date` string, nullable, required: `yyyy-mm-dd` of the latest observation. Daily series can run a few days ahead, when a value is set in advance (the TRM over a weekend).
      - `last_load_date` string, nullable, required: `yyyy-mm-dd` the Banco de la República last updated the series.
      - `next_load_date` string, nullable, required: `yyyy-mm-dd` the Banco de la República plans to update the series next. Null when no update is scheduled, as for a discontinued series.
    - `count` number, required: Observations in `observations`.
    - `observations` object[], required: Every observation in the requested range, oldest first.
      - `date` string, required: `yyyy-mm-dd` the value applies to: the day, the date a week is stamped with, or the last day of the month, quarter or year.
