# List the works beside the Papers

`GET /works`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.urantia.dev`
- URL: `https://api.urantia.dev/works`
- Auth: none required

The Bible (World English Bible) and 21 texts of the world's religions and traditions, each in the US public domain. `id` is what the other `/works` endpoints take: `"bible"` or a slug such as `"dhammapada"`. `unitLabel` is the word for one unit of each work (verse, section, pauri).

The works

    - `id` string, required: The work id: "bible", or the slug of a text such as "dhammapada".
    - `title` string, required
    - `religion` string, required: The same as `tradition`, kept for older clients.
    - `tradition` string, required: The people or the religion of the work: "Buddhist", "Norse", "Ancient Greek".
    - `kind` 'scripture' | 'classic' | 'recorded', required: "scripture": read as sacred by its tradition. "classic": a story, history, or teaching that is not read as scripture. "recorded": an oral tradition that an outside observer wrote down.
    - `summary` string, required: One plain sentence on what the work is.
    - `translator` string, required
    - `year` integer, nullable, required
    - `refPrefix` string, nullable, required: The prefix of its references, such as "Dhp". Null for the Bible (a book name).
    - `unitLabel` string, required: The word for one unit of the work: "verse", "section", "pauri".
    - `units` integer, required
    - `urantiaSection` string, nullable, required

## Other responses

- `429`: Too many requests
- `500`: Internal server error
