# Nearest passages of the other works for one unit of a work

`GET /works/{work}/{ref}/work-parallels`

## Request

The 10 chunks of the other works and of the Bible that are closest in meaning to the chunk that holds this unit. The reference must name one unit of a text (not of the Bible). **These parallels are semantic, not curated.** They do not claim that two texts teach the same thing, or that one drew on the other.

## Path parameters

- `work` string, required: "bible", or a work id such as "bhagavad-gita" (its ref prefix also works: "bg").
- `ref` string, required: A unit (`John 3:16`, `2.47`, `Dhp 183`), a short range (`John 3:16-18`, `2.47-49`), or a whole chapter (`John 3`, `2`).
