# Health check

`GET /healthz`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.uptimemonitoring.com`
- URL: `https://api.uptimemonitoring.com/healthz`
- Auth: none required

Returns 200 if the service is running. Used by load balancers and by the post-deploy smoke check, which also asserts `commit` against the commit it just deployed.

## Response `200`

Healthy.

  - `status` string
  - `commit` string: The 40-char git commit this binary was built from, or "dev" for a build with no -X main.commitSHA stamp.

## Other responses

- `405`: The HTTP method is not supported for this path. The `Allow` response header lists the methods this endpoint accepts.
- `500`: Internal server error.
