# Retrieve an SMS topic

`GET /sms/topics/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.unitpost.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://www.unitpost.com/api/v1/sms/topics/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Retrieve a single SMS topic by `id`. An email topic id returns `404` here. Change it with [Update an SMS topic](#patch-sms-topics-id). Requires the `topics:read` capability.

The SMS topic.

  - `description` string, nullable, required
  - `channel` 'email' | 'sms', required: Which channel the topic belongs to. Email topics are managed under `/email/topics`, SMS topics under `/sms/topics`.

  - `created_at` string, required
  - `updated_at` string, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: Insufficient scope.
- `404`: SMS topic not found, or SMS is not enabled.
