# Update a scope

`PUT /api/v1/scopes/{slug}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://unbrowse.ai`
- URL: `https://unbrowse.ai/api/v1/scopes/{slug}`
- Auth: one of:
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://unbrowse.ai/authorize`, token URL `https://unbrowse.ai/oauth/token`, scopes: `unbrowse`)
  - HTTP bearer

- `slug` string, required

## Request body

- ToolScope: A named set of apps and tools. An MCP client at /mcp/{slug} (or /mcp?scope={slug}) lists and routes to only these; /mcp?apps=a.com,b.com is the ad-hoc form.
  - `slug` string, required
  - `name` string
  - `apps` string[]: Registrable domains (github.com); every tool on them is in scope.
  - `tools` string[]: Capability ids, on top of the apps.
  - `core` union: Which Unbrowse tools the connection keeps.
    - 'all' | 'run_only'
    - string[]
  - `discoverPublic` boolean: Let discover search the whole public registry, beyond the scope's apps.
  - `urls` object
    - `mcp` string
    - `mcpQuery` string

The scope
