# Delete a monitor immediately

`DELETE /api/monitors/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://twitr.sh`
- URL: `https://twitr.sh/api/monitors/{id}`
- Auth: API key in header `SIGN-IN-WITH-X`

Stops the monitor now. Remaining prepaid hours are NOT refunded.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

Deleted. `{ok, monitor_id, status}`.

## Other responses

- `402`: Identity Required — sign SIWX and retry.
- `403`: Signing wallet doesn't own this monitor.
- `404`: Monitor unknown.
- `503`: Teardown briefly contended — retry in a few seconds.
