# Send a typing indicator

`POST /v2/Indicators/Typing.json`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://messaging.twilio.com`
- URL: `https://messaging.twilio.com/v2/Indicators/Typing.json`
- Auth: HTTP basic

Send a typing indicator to notify the recipient that you are composing a message. Currently supported for whatsapp channel only. For WhatsApp, `messageId` is required.

## Request body `application/x-www-form-urlencoded`

- MessagingV2WhatsappTypingIndicator: - Payload for typing indicator request
  - `channel` 'whatsapp', required: Shared channel identifier
  - `messageId` string, required: Message SID that identifies the conversation thread for the typing indicator. Must be a valid Twilio Message SID (SM*) or Media SID (MM*) from an existing WhatsApp conversation.

## Response `200`

Typing indicator was successfully sent to the recipient.
