# Import Profiles

`POST /v1/Stores/{storeId}/Profiles/Imports`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://memory.twilio.com`
- URL: `https://memory.twilio.com/v1/Stores/{storeId}/Profiles/Imports`
- Auth: HTTP basic

Initiate a profile import by requesting a pre-signed upload URL and an associated `importId`. Upload your CSV to the returned URL (single PUT). Query the import status endpoint to track processing progress. This endpoint creates the import task and allocates resources for subsequent ingestion.

## Request body

- object
  - `filename` string, required: The name of the file to generate a presigned URL
  - `fileSize` integer, required: The size of the file in bytes (1 byte to 100 MiB)
  - `columnMappings` ColumnMappingItem[], required: Mappings of CSV header columns to traits' fields
    - `columnName` string, required: The name of the column in the CSV header
    - `traitGroup` string, required: The trait group to which this trait belongs
    - `traitName` string, required: The name of the trait in the trait group

## Response `201`

Import task created.

  - `importId` string, required: ID of the import task.
  - `url` string, required: Pre-signed URL to upload the CSV via a single PUT request.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found
- `429`: This error indicates that you have sent too many requests to the API. You should retry according to the `Retry-After` response header.
- `500`: Internal Server Error
- `503`: Service Unavailable
