# Create a Trait Group

`POST /v1/ControlPlane/Stores/{storeId}/TraitGroups`

Creates a Trait Group with declarative trait schemas for this Memory Store.

## Request body

- TraitGroupRequest — Payload schema for creating Trait Groups.
  - `displayName` string, required — Unique name of the Trait Group
  - `description` string — description of the Trait Group
  - `traits` object — Map of traits belonging to this Trait Group, keyed by trait name.

## Response `202`

TraitGroup creation request accepted.

- `400` — Bad Request
- `404` — Not Found
- `429` — This error indicates that you have sent too many requests to the API. You should retry according to the `Retry-After` response header.
