# Retrieve the default webhook secret

`GET /v1/webhooks/default/secret`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.tryleap.ai`
- URL: `https://api.tryleap.ai/v1/webhooks/default/secret`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

The secret that signs events sent to the `webhook` URL a generation or batch request names. It's made the first time you read it. Keep it in your server's environment.

Needs an API key with the `generations:write` scope.

## Response `200`

The secret.

- WebhookSecret: The secret that signs events sent to the webhook URL a request names.
  - `object` 'webhook_secret', required
  - `secret` string, required: The signing secret, whsec_ and base64. Keep it in your server's environment.

- `400`: `conflicting_credentials`
- `401`: `authentication_required`
- `403`: `permission_denied`
- `429`: `rate_limit_exceeded`
