# Delete a product

`DELETE /shop/products/{productId}`

Soft-deletes a retail product. The product is hidden from the
storefront and cannot be added to new baskets; existing orders that
already contain the product are unaffected. Use
`POST /shop/products/{productId}/restore` to bring a deleted product
back.

## Response `204`

The product was successfully deleted.

## Other responses

- `401` — The user is unauthenticated
- `403` — The authenticated user does not have permission.
- `404` — The resource couldn't be found
