# Correct a place: pin it, fix its country or city

`PATCH /api/places/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://trvlrr.app`
- URL: `https://trvlrr.app/api/places/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Sets coordinates (and the zone from them); country, locality and locality_country are kept when not given. A correction also becomes an alias for this account so the same label resolves the same way next time.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required: The id.

## Request body

- PlaceCorrection
  - `lat` number, required: Latitude.
  - `lon` number, required: Longitude.
  - `country` string: Country.
  - `locality` string: The city it belongs to.
  - `locality_country` string: ISO alpha-2 of that city.

## Response `200`

Corrected.

- Ok
  - `ok` boolean, required

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is malformed or fails validation.
- `401`: No usable credential: a Clerk session token, a device token or an OAuth access token is required.
- `403`: The caller may not do this to this account or trip.
- `404`: No such thing, or not one the caller can see.
