# Assign faces to a person

`POST /api/faces/assign`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://trvlrr.app`
- URL: `https://trvlrr.app/api/faces/assign`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

By person_id, or by name (creating the person if new). Confirms them, so they become references for future suggestions.

## Request body

- FaceAssign
  - `face_ids` string[], required: Face ids.
  - `person_id` string: An existing person.
  - `name` string: Or a name; a person is created if new.

## Response `200`

Assigned.

- FaceAssigned
  - `assigned` integer, required
  - `person_id` string, required

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is malformed or fails validation.
- `401`: No usable credential: a Clerk session token, a device token or an OAuth access token is required.
- `402`: Trvlrr Plus is required, or this month's AI allowance is used up.
- `403`: The caller may not do this to this account or trip.
