# Create a short code for SDK handoff

`POST /api/handoff`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://verification.trulioo.com`
- URL: `https://verification.trulioo.com/api/handoff`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Generates a single-use short code (valid for 5 minutes) to continue the verification flow in an SDK.
The short code locks the workflow to the same transaction identifier that was generated during authorization.

## Headers

- `Accept-Version` string, required

## Response `200`

Short code created.

- HandoffResponse
  - `shortCode` string: Single-use code to handoff the transaction to an SDK.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `429`: Too Many Requests (rate limited)
- `500`: Internal Server Error
