# Select claims for analysis

`PATCH /api/v1/checks/{check_id}/select-claims`

Select claims for full analysis (article mode only).

When a URL/article check pauses with status `waiting_for_selection`,
call this endpoint with the positions of claims to investigate.
Triggers Phase 2: evidence retrieval, decomposition, and mapping.

**Request body:** `{"selected_positions": [0, 2, 4]}`

Max 5 claims per check. The check resumes streaming progress via
`GET /checks/{id}/progress`.

- `check_id` string, required

## Request body

- SelectClaimsRequest: Select claims for full evidence analysis (article mode).
  - `selected_positions` integer[], required: Claim positions to select for analysis (0-indexed). Maximum 5 claims per check.

Selection accepted — Phase 2 pipeline resumed via SSE

- `400`: Invalid selection or too many claims
- `404`: Check not found
- `409`: Check is not in waiting_for_selection state
- `422`: Validation Error
