# Counter a proposal

`POST /api/v1/proposals/{id}/counter`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://traydstar.com`
- URL: `https://traydstar.com/api/v1/proposals/{id}/counter`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Scope: trade. Answer a received proposal with different terms. The original closes as COUNTERED and a new proposal goes to the other side (counter_of = original id). Defaults: you give the listing that was asked for, you ask for the listing that was offered. Something must change: a listing on either side, or a note.

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- object
  - `offer_listing_id` string, uuid: One of your listings to give
  - `want_listing_id` string, uuid: One of their listings to ask for
  - `message` string

## Response `201`

{ proposal_id, countered }

## Other responses

- `409`: Not pending, or expired.
- `default`: Error.
