# Set Ceiling

`PUT /admin/organizations/{organization_id}/usage-ceilings/{resource_kind}`

Set an organization's ceiling for one resource kind, creating or replacing it.

Platform admin only. The path names one ceiling and the write replaces its value
outright, so repeating the same call changes nothing further. Returns no body:
the platform-admin API contract defines no response shape for this write.

## Path parameters

- `organization_id` string, uuid, required
- `resource_kind` 'investigation', required — A category of product activity metered and governed on its own. Two activities are different kinds when their accounting or entitlement behavior differs, not merely because a user would name them differently.

## Request body

- SetUsageCeilingRequest — Body of the ceiling write; the path addresses the organization and kind.
  - `max_budget` integer, required — Credits the organization's own budgets for this kind must sum under.
