# Update New Session Alert Config

`PUT /admin/organizations/{organization_id}/new-session-alert`

Turn the alert on or off for one organization.

Platform admin only. Synchronous rather than routed through
UpdateOrganizationWorkflow like the sibling PUT: enabling validates the channel
against Slack for real, and the admin needs that outcome in the response.

- `organization_id` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateNewSessionAlertConfigRequest — Turn the alert on or off for one organization. ``channel_name`` is required to enable and ignored when disabling. Saving with ``enabled`` set validates the channel for real -- the bot joins it and posts a confirmation -- so a stored ``enabled`` always means delivery has worked at least once.
  - `enabled` boolean, required
  - `channel_name` string, nullable — Channel name to alert into, with or without a leading #
  - `excluded_emails` string[]

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- NewSessionAlertConfig — The per-organization internal-alert setting, as the admin UI sees it.
  - `enabled` boolean, required — Off unless a platform admin has turned it on
  - `channel_name` string, nullable — Configured channel name, without the leading #
  - `channel_id` string, nullable — Resolved Slack channel ID
  - `suggested_channel_name` string, required — Convention-based default to pre-fill when nothing is configured
  - `excluded_emails` string[] — Addresses that should never raise an alert, e.g. teammates on personal mail
  - `bot_is_member` boolean, nullable — Live membership of the configured channel; None when none is resolved
