# Discover Publishers Public

`POST /discover-publishers`

## Request

Find independent publishers for a topic, tracked prompts, or sites like a
seed publisher, and read their pages.

Returns up to five candidates, each with a page excerpt, contact or
contributor pages found on that page, and whether the publisher appears in
this brand's citation history. The same scope is served from a 24 hour
cache. A fresh search spends web search and page reads, so each brand gets
a small number per rolling 24 hours (429 when used up). Requires editor
access to a paid brand.

  - `new_only` boolean: Skip publishers already in this brand's citation history, so every lead is new ground.

## Other responses

- `503`: Authentication, entitlement, or a required dependency is temporarily unavailable
