# Get Subtree

`GET /api/reference/subtree/{code}`

The Combined Nomenclature sub-tree rooted at *code* (nested
``{code, text, children}``, in *lang*), used to drill from a parent code
into its children. ``"TOTAL"`` (the Eurostat all-products meta-aggregate)
is accepted: every chapter is hardcoded as its child. Day-cacheable; 400
for malformed codes, 503 when the nomenclature service is unavailable.
