# Queue a \`ping\` delivery to verify wiring and signature

`POST /v1/webhooks/{id}/test`

Queues a delivery with event type `ping` and a body of `{ type: "ping", occurred_at, data: { message } }` so you can confirm your endpoint is reachable and your signature check is correct before any real shipment event arrives. The response returns as soon as the delivery is QUEUED, not when it lands: read the outcome from `recent_deliveries` on GET /v1/webhooks/{id}. `ping` is not a subscribable event type and does not need to be in `event_types`.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: `NOT_FOUND` — no such endpoint on your organisation.
- `500`: `INTERNAL_ERROR` — the test delivery could not be queued.
