# Set Default Model

`PUT /agent/default-model`

## Request

Set the organization's default AI model by catalog id.

Names aren't unique once an org enables the same ``model_name`` under
multiple providers (e.g. ``openai/gpt-4o`` + ``azure_openai/gpt-4o``),
so the selection is keyed by catalog row. Rejects catalog ids that
aren't enabled for this org with a 404.

## Request body

- DefaultModelSelectionUpdate: Payload for updating the organization's default model selection.
  - `catalog_id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- DefaultModelSelection: Canonical default-model selection for an organization.
  - `catalog_id` string, uuid, required
  - `model_name` string, required
  - `model_provider` string, required
  - `custom_provider_id` string, uuid, nullable
