# Cut Release

`POST /admin/managed-resources/source/releases`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://platform.tracecat.com/api`
- URL: `https://platform.tracecat.com/api/admin/managed-resources/source/releases`
- Auth: API key in cookie `fastapiusersauth`

Tag the source repository's base branch HEAD as a new release.

## Request body

- ManagedReleaseCreate: Cut a release tag at the HEAD of the source repository's base branch.
  - `tag` string, required
  - `commit_sha` string, nullable: The commit the caller reviewed. When set, the release is refused if the base branch has moved past it.

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- GitTagInfo: Git tag information for repository management.
  - `name` string, required: Tag name
  - `commit_sha` string, required: SHA of the commit the tag points to (SHA-1 or SHA-256)
  - `date` string, required: Tag date in ISO format. The provider's tag date when it has one, otherwise the tagged commit's date.
