# Update work orders

`PATCH /work_orders/{id}`

## Request

  - HTTP bearer
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://app.torgix.ai/oauth/authorize`, token URL `https://app.torgix.ai/oauth/token`, scopes: `write`)

Patches the supplied fields on one record. `asset_id` cannot be changed. `custom_fields` may be included.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed request: bad JSON, empty body, bad batch, bad id, or an invalid metric or group_by.
- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: API access not enabled for the account, missing scope, or IP not allowlisted.
- `404`: Resource not found in this account.
- `405`: This resource does not accept that write in v1.
- `422`: The write was rejected (e.g. a required field is missing); `field` names the column.
- `429`: Per-second rate limit exceeded.
