# Pdf Extract

`POST /api/pdf-extract`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://toolsthatdontupload.com`
- URL: `https://toolsthatdontupload.com/api/pdf-extract`
- Auth: one of:
  - none
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Returns a new PDF with the requested pages in the requested order. Header X-Page-Count.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request: missing or invalid field, for example the file sent as a text value instead of a file part (code file_not_binary), or bad page syntax (pages_syntax)
- `405`: Method Not Allowed: send a POST with multipart/form-data
- `413`: Payload Too Large: uploads are limited to 15 MB per request
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity: the file is not a PDF (code not_pdf), is encrypted or permission-protected (encrypted), or is damaged (invalid_pdf), or pages outside the document (pages_out_of_range)
- `429`: Anonymous daily limit for file calls reached (20 per IP per day); use a free API key
