Express one gross salary in every pay period at once: per hour, per day, per week, per fortnight, per month and per year. Give the amount and the period it is quoted in, and adjust the hours per week and weeks per year for part-time, term-time or shift work. A day is a fifth of the working week rather than a fixed eight hours, so a 36 hour week converts honestly. Gross only: tax, contributions and benefits are not modelled.
