# Image compress

`POST /api/v1/render/image-compress`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://toolforte.com`
- URL: `https://toolforte.com/api/v1/render/image-compress`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - none

Re-encode an image (public URL, max 15MB) as JPEG at a chosen quality (1-100, default 70) to shrink it. Returns a hosted download URL valid for 24 hours. Same metering as the other render endpoints.

## Request body

- object
  - `url` string, required: Public URL of the source image
  - `quality` integer: JPEG quality, 1 (smallest) to 100 (best). Default 70.

## Response `200`

Hosted compressed JPEG download URL

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid, private, or unreadable input
- `429`: Render limit reached
- `502`: Compress failed
