# Email writer

`POST /api/v1/ai/email-write`

## Request

Write an email from a purpose, a recipient and the key points, in a chosen tone (formal, friendly, persuasive, urgent, apologetic or neutral) and length. Returns a subject line and the body, ready to paste, in the requested language or the language of the key points. Good for follow-ups, requests, complaints, cold outreach, thank-you notes and apologies. Costs 10 credits per call with an API key or a signed-in session, drawn from the same monthly balance as REST calls (1 credit) and renders (25). Without either, a small free demo allowance per day. Also available on the MCP server as write_email.

## Request body

- object
  - `purpose` string, required: What the email should achieve, for example 'ask for the invoice to be corrected'.
  - `recipient` string, required: Who it goes to and your relationship, for example 'my landlord' or 'a customer who complained'.
  - `keyPoints` string, required: The facts to include, one per line.
  - `tone` 'formal' | 'friendly' | 'persuasive' | 'urgent' | 'apologetic' | 'neutral', required: The tone of voice.
  - `length` 'short' | 'medium' | 'long', required: short is a few lines, medium two or three paragraphs, long a full page.
  - `language` string, required: Language of the email, for example en or nl. auto follows the key points.

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing or invalid request fields
- `429`: Daily demo allowance or monthly credits used up
