# Upload a file chunk

`PUT /api/tasks/{id}/files/{fileId}/chunks/{index}`

## Request

  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Send canonical base64 bytes, index starting at zero. Each decoded chunk must be 262144 bytes except the final chunk. Retry the same index with identical bytes safely. Access is checked on every call. Uploads interrupted by revocation cannot resume after a fresh grant; delete and restart them.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid file input.
- `401`: Sign in first.
- `403`: File access denied.
- `404`: No accessible file or task.
- `409`: File state, path, or quota conflict.
- `413`: Request exceeds the body limit.
- `503`: Storage unavailable; retry later.
