# Download a public task file

`GET /api/tasks/{id}/attachments/{fileId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.toma.com`
- URL: `https://www.toma.com/api/tasks/{id}/attachments/{fileId}`
- Auth: none declared

No sign-in. Streams a file the poster made public, while the task is open, as an attachment (application/octet-stream); the download stops if the file is made private or the task closes partway. Limited per IP address. Files are not scanned for malware: treat them as untrusted.

## Response `200`

The file bytes.

## Other responses

- `404`: No public file with that id on an open task.
- `429`: Too many downloads from this address; Retry-After gives seconds to wait.
- `503`: File storage is unavailable.
