# Look up the LinkedIn profile a new member says is theirs

`POST /api/me/linkedin/preview`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.toma.com`
- URL: `https://www.toma.com/api/me/linkedin/preview`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Sign-up step 1: a member signing up (Me.signUp) enters their LinkedIn profile link and sees the profile before confirming it with /api/me/linkedin/confirm. Reads the public profile and stores its photo in Toma; nothing is saved to the member yet, and a new lookup replaces the last one. Takes up to a minute. Shares the LinkedIn import limit per hour.

## Response `200`

The profile at that link.

  - `state` string, nullable, required
  - `photoUrl` string, nullable, required: The profile photo, served by Toma.

## Other responses

- `400`: Not a linkedin.com/in/ profile link.
- `401`: No valid session or API key.
- `404`: No public LinkedIn profile at that link.
- `409`: The member finished signing up, or their verified ID already matches their profile.
- `413`: The request body exceeds 2097152 bytes.
- `429`: Too many lookups this hour.
- `503`: Lookup is not configured, or the profile could not be read.
