# Delete a comment

`DELETE /api/comments/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.toma.com`
- URL: `https://www.toma.com/api/comments/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Its author may, and so may the member who posted the task. The text and author are removed; replies stay. Same as the delete_comment MCP tool.

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

The deleted comment's id.

  - `deleted` unknown, required

## Other responses

- `401`: No valid session or API key.
- `403`: Not the author or the task's poster.
- `404`: No comment on an open task has that id.
- `409`: Already deleted.
