# Check whether Toma is invite-only and whether the caller is let in

`GET /api/access`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.toma.com`
- URL: `https://www.toma.com/api/access`
- Auth: none required

Public. While Toma is invite-only, signed-out visitors see the gate page, and task and member reads need a member who was let in. Accounts with a verified @toma.so or @toma.com email skip the invite step; all other new accounts must accept a member's invitation link (POST /api/me/invite) or join the waitlist (POST /api/waitlist). Normal sign-up requirements still apply.

## Response `200`

The caller's standing.

- Access
  - `inviteOnly` boolean, required: Whether Toma is invite-only right now.
  - `signedIn` boolean, required
  - `admitted` boolean, required: True for every signed-in member while Toma is open; while invite-only, for members previously let in or with a verified @toma.so or @toma.com email.
