# Create Project From Template

`POST /api/v1/projects/from_template`

## Request

Create a project from a template, returning only its ID and success status.

Requires `data:read_write`. Setup templates are not supported. Workspace
templates can only be imported into their associated workspace. Calendar
defaults are applied to the project according to the destination plan.

## Request body

  - `template_id` string, required: Curated template slug or saved template ID with a `UT_` prefix.
  - `name` string: Project name. Empty or omitted uses the localized template name.
  - `locale` string: Locale for curated template content, with the template's English fallback.
  - `workspace_id` string, nullable: Destination workspace ID. Omit to create a personal project.
  - `folder_id` string, nullable: Destination folder ID. Requires workspace_id and a folder in that workspace.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- ProjectImportCreateResponse
  - `project_id` string, required: ID of the project created from the template.
  - `status` 'ok', required: Always `ok` on success.

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `503`: Rate limiter temporarily unavailable
