# Password Reset Request

`POST /api/auth/password/reset/request`

## Request

Issue a 6-digit password-reset code via email.

Always returns 200 with the same generic message regardless of whether
the email belongs to an account, to avoid leaking which addresses are
registered. A pending lockout (`pwd_reset_lock:{email}`) silently
suppresses code generation.
