# Get a Leave Type

`GET /api/leavetypes/{id}`

Gets a leave type using the ID passed.

The leave type.

  - `id` integer
  - `name` string, nullable
  - `organisationId` integer
  - `deducted` boolean: Does this leave type deduct from your allowance
  - `requiresApproval` boolean: Does this leave type require approval, or it is automatically approved
  - `includeMaxOff` boolean: Is this leave type considered in maximum absent restrictions
  - `isPrivate` boolean: Is this leave type private
  - `active` boolean: Is this leave type active?
  - `isInUse` boolean: Is this leave type in use for holiday bookings
  - `createdAt` string, date-time
  - `updatedAt` string, date-time
  - `color` string, nullable: The assigned colour for this leave type
  - `icon` string, nullable: The assigned icon for this leave type
  - `calendarVisibility` 1 | 2 | 3: Whether this leave type is set to "Busy" or "Available" on external calendars - `1` — **Busy** - `2` — **Available** - `3` — **OutOfOffice**
  - `limitHours` number, double, nullable: The limit in hours for this leave type
  - `limitDays` number, double, nullable: The limit in days for this leave type

## Other responses

- `401`: The request was not authenticated — the API token is missing or invalid.
- `403`: The leave type belongs to another organisation.
- `404`: No leave type exists with that ID.
