# Delete a leave type

`DELETE /api/leavetypes/{id}`

## Request

Deletes a leave type. Only admins can delete leave types. You cannot delete the last active leave type.

## Response `200`

The leave type was successfully deactivated

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request or validation error
- `403`: You don't have permission to delete this leave type
- `404`: The leave type was not found
