# Rename room

`PATCH /rooms/{room_id}`

Rename a room you own or have edit access to.

## Path parameters

- `room_id` string, required

## Request body

- RoomWrite
  - `title` string, required: Room title, 1–100 characters. Leading and trailing whitespace is trimmed.

  - `id` string, required: Room ID.
  - `title` string, required: Room title.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: ISO 8601 timestamp.
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required: ISO 8601 timestamp.
  - `meeting_count` integer, required: Number of meetings in this room.
  - `share_url` string, nullable: Link that opens this room in the Timeless app, identical to the one the Share button produces. Sharing settings still apply: recipients can open it only if the room is shared publicly or shared with them. `null` if the room's owner cannot be resolved.
  - `documents` Document[]: Only present when `expand=documents` is requested.

- `400`: Invalid ID or request body. The title must be 1–100 characters.
- `401`: Authentication required
- `403`: API access is not available for this account, or you have read-only access to this room
- `404`: Room not found or not accessible
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
