# Set the forward socket for a topic

`PUT /api/v1/messages/topics/{topic}/forward`

Set the socket path where messages for a specific topic should be forwarded to.

## Path parameters

- `topic` string, byte, required

## Request body

- TopicForwardSocketRequest — Request to set a forward socket for a topic
  - `socket_path` string — The socket path where messages should be forwarded to

## Response `204`

Forward socket set successfully

- `400` — Invalid topic format
