# Start Installation Setup

`POST /api/integrations/installations/{installation_id}/setup`

Report the viewer's setup for this installation; stores nothing.

``configured`` when the viewer is already connected, else ``in_progress``
at the requested step (or the handler's own current step).

- SetupStartRequest: Start or resume the viewer's setup (``POST /installations/{id}/setup``).

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- SetupStateOut: The viewer's setup for one installation, derived from their live connection. Viewer-scoped (decision D14): never carries another member's setup. Distinct from :class:`SetupOut`, which is the handler's setup *descriptor* (what to do). Nothing stores it (TOS-5190 slice 3).
